History of the Palisade Band

Excerpt from the 1936 yearbook

The Band was started under the capable direction of Cleon Dalby in the year of 1928. After a year of strenuous practice the band went to its first tournament. From that time on the band has received either first or second place in everything it has entered. After eight years, Mr. Dalby resigned and took a position under Wells Music Co. Mr. Homer Flick undertook the job of directing and teaching in the year 1936. Under his capable direction the band has maintained its high standing in Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. The band has entered in both classes A and B.
